MOTD: Darkhorse

Having been a recent graduate of Makeup First School of Makeup Artistry and receiving my makeup artist certificate, I will be posting more MOTD (Makeup Of The Day) posts. I’m so excited to be going on a career change. I hope to be able to find work as a freelance makeup artist and one day become a celebrity makeup artist.

Kushyfoot Flats To Go and Trouser Socks Review

Disclosure: I received these press samples from Lipton Publicity for Kushyfoot in exchange for my review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Beauty Branch | Kushyfoot Flats To Go and Trouser Socks Review

Kushyfoot legwear products offer chic fashionable hosiery while providing massaging and reflexology in the soles. And they are very affordable.

The Beauty Branch | Kushyfoot Flats To Go and Trouser Socks Review

The first product I tried was the Flats To Go ($9.99). I received the Fleecy Leopard Print Flats To Go which are a new Kushyfoot product. They are thin flats that you wear after a long day of work or long night out on the town. They are so adorable and conveniently come in a clear plastic mini purse that you can throw in your purse. I was surprised to see how much better my feet felt after a long day of wearing ballet flats. The zig zag sole instantly massages your feet. I haven’t been able to wear heels much due to the insane amount of snow Chicago has gotten this winter. But I’m sure to get more use this spring and summer.

The second product I tried was the Fleece Trouser Socks ($17.97 for 3 pairs or $5.99 ea). These knee high socks are lined with fleece, soft on your feet, and keep you warmer. They are very opaque and can be easily worn with boots for an easier fit or with dresses for a fashion statement. I wore mine over tights and ankle boots with a skirt since its still cold here. I really loved the way it looked.

Have you ever tried any products from Kushyfoot? They also offer foot covers, tights, yoga socks and much more. These can be purchased at Kushyfoot.com or your local Duane Reade. On Kushyfoot’s website they are currently offering free shipping on orders over $40, 20% off your next order and they have a clearance section.

Victoria Jackson Cosmetics Foundation Duo Review

The Beauty Branch | Victoria Jackson Cosmetics Foundation Duo Review

When you look better, you feel better. And when you feel better, you can change your life.

Victoria Jackson is a celebrity makeup artist and entrepreneur who created her own makeup line that helps women achieve that ‘no makeup’ makeup look that everyone desires. The foundation duo I received was in the shade light. You can get sheer to medium coverage. This oil-free cream foundation comes with two shades to mix or use alone. You can even use the darker shade to contour the features you want to diminish.

Victoria Jackson Foundation Duo comes in a black box with white writing. The compact is shiny and black and contains a mirror, two semicircles of the duo shades, and a sponge applicator. You can choose from 3 different shades: light, medium, and tan. The foundation formula is very creamy and easy to apply. No pulling or tugging. It smells a bit sweet and does not have a strong scent. I would say that it gives a semi-matte finish. I used the first shade that was lighter. And it was too light for my skin tone. Although, it was too light, it gave me opaque coverage. I then added the second shade that was a bit darker on top to try to get my the right color of my skin tone. Even after adding the second shade on top, I felt that it was a tad bit too light for my taste. I love that this creamy foundation set to a powder finish after application.

As much I liked the formatulation of the foundation duo, I will not be using it since its a tad bit too light. I wish I could test out the medium duo shade. I think that shade may have been a better fit. I chose to test out the light duo shade since I’m pretty much the lightest shade when it comes to foundations.

For your first order, you can get the Victoria Jackson Foundation duo at http://www.vmakeup.com/ for only $26.96
